PT Buana Lintas Lautan Tbk (BULL) is a well-known oil and gas tanker company in Indonesia that was established on May 12th, 2005 to meet the need for world-class domestic oil, gas, and chemical transportation services. We started out with a range of oil and gas tanker, designed and dedicated to carry crude oil and oil products, as well as gas products such as LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas). We became the first domestic shipping company that own and operate VLGC (Very Large Gas Carrier) in Indonesia.

BULL officially listed its shares on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2011 to enhance its ability to grow with its opportunities. To strengthen its vision and mission, in 2018, The Company changed its logo and company name to PT Buana Lintas Lautan Tbk. to emphasize its fresh start as a dynamic and growing company.


1. TECHNICAL SUPERINTENDENT

JOB DETAIL

  • Monitoring assigned vessel’s technical operation and maintenance.
  • Monitoring performance through monthly return reports/vessel inspections and maintain optimum maintenance levels.
  • Monitoring and establishing reasons for excessive/unusual wear and tear and developing means to control/rectify same, through consultation with Technical Manager.
  • Monitoring technical performance of vessels and monitoring consumption of spares/lub oils and bunkers to ensure these are not caused by poor condition of vessel.
  • Monitoring survey cycles, statutory survey requirements and carrying out important surveys physically onboard.
  • Planning regular and special surveys/repairs/dry docking in advance with max time and cost benefits for each vessel.
  • Liasing with Marine Superintendent, Master or Chief Engineer on the vessel’s maintenance programme and on operational matters.
  • Inspecting vessel’s under his charge at least twice a year, using a vessel inspection checklist as guidance.
  • Providing detailed operating budgets for maintenance dry-docking and special survey Initiating follow-up action where possible, to contain costs, within budgeted parameters.
  • Maintaining current data on costs obtained from various sources, in-cooperation with Procurement department.
  • Controlling volume and preparing specifications for repairs given to outside workshops/repaires and organizing supplies of repair equipment.
  • Providing feedback on purchases and encourage ship staff to tackle same onboard.
  • Drawing timely attention of principals to areas where costs might be expected and which are additional to the budget.
  • Advising the ships under control on budget as well as the actual cost for the technical items.
  • Reducing costs by motivating the ship’s staff, improving cost awareness by regularly advising them on cost of stores and spares ordered.
  • Maintaining validity of class, international, national, and specific certificates.
  • Keeping up to date on requirements/changes in statutory/class rules/development and other regulations.
  • Attending to matters for registration reflagging, selling, and buying as per flag requirements.
  • Ship staff to be continuously updated/instructed/advised/follow up on implementation of same in co-ordination with Technical Manager and Marine department.
  • Reviewing effectiveness of company’s SMS system and discussing with Master on its implementation during inspection.
  • Preparing monthly report on vessel’s budgeted and actual expenditure and submit/report to Technical Manager on time.
  • Checking all bills for repairs/luboils/spares/stores and keeping verification of same through shipboard record of supplies/consumption.
  • Ensuring that all forms are filled in correctly and filed onboard/sent to the office.

JOB QUALIFICATION

  • Candidate must possess at least Bachelor′s Degree, Master′s Degree/Post Graduate Degree in Maritime Studies or equivalent, PREFERABLY HAVE ATT I DEGREE.
  • Fluency in English is REQUIRED for this position.
  • At least 6 year(s) of working experience, with minimum 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE AS CHIEF ENGINEER on board tanker.
  • Required Skill(s): Ship Management, International Covention Regulation, ISM Code, ISPS Code, Tankers Vessel.
  • Preferably Manager/Assistant Manager specialized in Ship Management.
  • Good analytical and logical thinking, detail oriented, well organized, and proactive for continuous improvement.
  • Computer literate.

2. MARINE PERSONNEL ASSISTANT

JOB DETAIL

  • Assisting Marine Personnel (MP) to update and required to stay informed regarding all (inter)national regulations on crewing requirements and aware of relevant manning developments, e.g. ILO, Flag Administrations, unions.
  • Assisting MP to monitor the seafarer recruitment processes and ensure correct certification and documentation in place with recruitment agents on the Crew Agents.
  • Supporting and giving advice to Crew Agent with the aim of building strong professional working relationships.
  • Reporting to MP of any identified problems/difficulties.
  • Assisting to develop, maintain and improve manning pools and address/solve crewing issues in close cooperation with the Fleet Supervisors and Crewing Officers.
  • Assisting in scheduling, planning of crew pre-joining preparation to be assigned on board in accordance with SMS procedures, agreed terms & conditions of employment and specified experience/training/qualification matrices.
  • Monitoring the appraisal / assessment of marine personnel performance and assisting in the implementation and follow-up of Seafarers Performance Appraisals, maintaining close liaison with the relevant reporting officer ensure input of appraisal reports to B-Path (FORM C-06;C-07;C-08; CODE).
  • Assisting to ensure the control of documents (i.e. certificates) of (embarking) seagoing personnel, appraisal process on seafarers’ performance and identify training needs of seafarers.
  • Assisting to establish, prepare and monitor annual crew plans and budgets  and anticipate on future company and crew developments.
  • Assisting in the monitoring of crew P&I claims and assisting Insurance staff as required.
  • Enter all relevant seafarer data accurately into B-Path.
  • Assisting in the preparation and exercise of crew gathering.
  • Updating and maintaining crew information and records in Ship Manager Bpath.
  • Scheduling visit to assigned vessels for marine personnel matters.
  • Any other duties as assigned by Manager and Management.

3. OPERATION STAFF

Jakarta

Responsibilities :

  • Monitoring vessel movements, ROB bunker, fresh water and tank cleaning material.
  • Monitoring cargo operation, speed, bunker consumption, and tank cleaning operation.
  • Monitoring smooth operation at loading/discharge port.
  • Minimizing vessel delays.
  • Ensuring vessel operation is done based on SOP.
  • Checking CBN/Fixture Note/Charter Party sent by Marketing Department.
  • Proposing stowage plan to Master.
  • Sending shipping instruction to the vessel and asking Master confirmation.
  • Preparing voyage checklist.
  • Sending daily update vessel schedule/movement and ETA notice to all related parties.
  • Checking port restriction to ensure the vessel suitability to enter the port; berthing prospect; most competitive port disbursement.
  • Selecting and appointing agents to be in charge at port.
  • Checking B/L draft and give releasing instruction to agent at loading port; B/L status and LOI at discharging port.
  • Sending discharge instruction to vessel and agent; related documents to related parties including L/D documents, B/L, etc.
  • Assisting agent in/out clearance process with port authority; vessel to monitor vessel material purchased to ship manager.
  • Collecting and analyzing vessel data (such as: speed, bunker, pumping rate, cargo, etc) comply with Charter Party.
  • Updating daily operational/vessel schedule.
  • Coordinating with vessel, ship manager and charterer to minimize problems (operation matter)
  • Following up charterer’s claim.
  • Arranging route admittance (PPKA & PKKA) with Ministry of Transportation.
  • Giving instruction and information to vessel regarding schedule, cargo nomination loading/discharging nomination, ship and cargo documents, etc.
  • Checking report for management review.
  • Submitting Estimate Port Disbursement Advance (EPDA) to Admin Staff.
  • Preparing Freight Order + Freight Invoice to be submitted to Accounting Department.
  • Filing voyage documentation.
  • Filing voyage checklist.
  • Preparing monthly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and vessel performance.
  • Ensuring QHSE management system are well-implemented.
